I studied fashion promotion and spent 2007-2008 assisting an advertising and commercial photographer. During that year I began collaborating with Heather Longton, another young female photographer, on our own style of fashion editorial imagery.
It soon became clear that narrative and a particular aesthetic language were more important in our photographs than selling clothes. Knowing the images that I wanted to create, but unsure of their context in the industry, I decided to take a step back and try to understand why the dreamworld of fashion looks and feels the way it does.
Currently I am interested in developing images that question the nature of femininity, innocence and self identity in contemporary life and visual culture.
Through a conceptual use of styling I want to construct my own stories about 'living the dream'.
